ITS HERE! ITS HERE! ITS FINALLY HERE! THINK PINK BLOG HOP OCT 8TH THRU OCT 11TH!!!

Welcome to the 1st Think Pink Blog Hop! If you got here from Heartfelt Creations -- then you are in the right place, if not you need to go to One By One The Flamingos Are Stealing My Sanity and start from there. A big shout out to Sarah over at Pink Cricut for sponsoring our grand prize drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate to her store. She is the creator of Pink By Design stamps. If you haven’t tried these stamps yet, you have too they are awesome. To enter the grand prize drawing you must visit and leave a comment on every blog in the hop.

I am so excited to be a part of the Think Pink blog hop. I wanted to be apart of spreading the word about Breast Cancer awareness to all women and men. I found some myths and facts about Breast Cancer from www.baltimoresun.com
Check these out, they are really interesting:

Myth: Only women get breast cancer.
Fact: 1,970 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2010.

Myth: If your grandmother, mother or sister had breast cancer you will get it, too.
Fact: Only 15 percent to 20 percent of women with breast cancer have a family history of the disease.

Myth: If no one in your family has had breast cancer, you won't get it either.
Fact: 80 percent to 85 percent of women with breast cancer have no family history of the disease.

Myth: Your genetic risk of getting breast cancer comes only from your mother's side of the family.
Fact: Half of your genes come from your mother and half from your father. Therefore both sides of your family influence your risk equally.

Myth: Only "old" women get breast cancer.
Fact: 25 percent of women with breast cancer are younger than 50.

Please take time today to share with all the women in your life how much they mean to you and some of the facts you learned here today.

Okay on to the projects I made for this special occasion and of BLOG CANDY!!!!!. I hope you enjoy them.

I have made three special projects for this hop.

The 1st is a Think Pink gift box. I found round gift boxes at Joanne’s for a dollar, painted it pink, and then added paper from Making Memories Breast Cancer Awareness paper pack sold a Michael’s. Then I added ribbon around where the 2 different papers meet and around the body.

I added pink ribbons around the lid to give it an extra touch ontop of white ribbon I wrapped around the lid
. Finally I finished it off with some flowers on the top of the box lid.

2nd I made a Pink pencil holder using the same paper collection from the 1st project. I went to Target and found the pail in the $1 section along with the pencils and paper pad.

I also used the same Making Memories flowers from the 1st project and finished it off with a ribbon.

The 3rd project I made I am so excited about how it turned out. I found these card board coasters at Michaels in the $1 section, and get this all $1 items were 70% off, so I ended up getting them for $0.30. Can you believe that? I wanted to make a pink project for my daughter’s bedroom, so I came up with this wall hanging.

The 1st step was to cover all the coasters with paper, then I sanded the edges down so the paper fit perfectly on the coasters.

Then using Once Upon A Princess cartridge, I cut out the princess and clothes at 3 ¼ inches, Cupcake at 2.5 inches, and the butterfly at 2 ¾ inches. I used Platin Schoolbook for the letters and cut those out at 3 inches. Then glued onto the coasters.  I also inked the edges and letters to get them some depth.

I put holes in the coasters using my big bite, and then found these metal rings at OfficeMax to connect each coaster together. So this is what the final project looks like.

NOW--- on to the fun stuff....For the blog candy for the Think Pink Blog Hop I am giving away the Cricut Cartridge PUMPKIN CARVINGS, this is awesome cartridge and you will have it in time to use it on your pumpkins for Halloween.

IU also love all of the projects you made, but my fav isa your daughters sign! A friend of mine is a manager at a resturat ad I jokingly said I needed some of his coasters to craft with because I was too cheap to buy them., He came back with a big handful of them. I just looked at him and he said they just came in on the delivery truck! How cool is that! I think I will try making one of these for both of my children! (Although their names are much longer!)
Thanks for hopping with us! And for the chance to win Pumpkin Carving!
