SSD DT- Memorial Day Challenge

Hi Everyone,

It's Becka with Creations with Becka here. This week Sweet Sassy Diva asked her design team to come up with a Memorial Day project. For Memorial Day every year my family and friends all go to Eagle Lake, CA and camp for the whole weekend. We have had the same campsite for the last 5 years. We have a great time biking, hiking and playing games. So to show our apprecation for our freedom, I thought I would make this layout using Stand and Salute cartridge.
Here is how I set it up on the gypsy.

I used the Stand and Salute cartridge
2- 4.25x6.25 red photomats
blue cardstock
patterned paper

Care Package

Happy Thursday Everyone!
My husband went on a work trip to SLC, UT and was gone for 3 weeks. It seemed like forever, even though we talked on the phone and video chatted its just not the same. Can you believe he was there for 3 weeks and I couldn't convence him to go to one scrapbook store for me??? He was even there during the DCWV garage sale!! I know I even had a VIP ticket and he still wouldn't go. I told him that the ladies there would be very helpful and I would love anything he brought back, but nope he just rolled his eyes at me! LOL! Oh well can't say I didn't try! LOL

Anyways, we were all missing him pretty badly by the end of the first week so the kids and I packed up and went to Wally World to pick out some stuff to send him in his care package. Check it out:
These a fusion sticks. He told me that his room reaked of ciggeratte smoke and it was a non-smoking room! He bought 2 bottles of frebreeze and used both of them. Poor guy, the hotel was booked solid so they wouldn't move him to a different room, and since it was for work he had to stay there.

These were some pens and highlighters- he was in training classes the whole time so I thought he could use them.

The card the kids gave to him

Hes back now but we sure missed him a lot. The kids were growing anxious and wanted their daddy back. Thanks for stopping by and remember to check back on Saturday for the Memorial Day Blog Hop, there are a great group of ladies on the hop and we all have some awesome prizes to give away!
See you Saturday!!!

Link up Love Party with K Andrew

Hi Everyone,
It is that time of the month again for K Andrews Link up Love Party, you can check out her website HERE. This is a great way to meet new bloggers and get lots of great inspiration.

I wanted to share with you the paper dress I made for KarelJ's May Challenge over at One By One the Flamingos are Stealing My Insanity.  Which means I need all of your guys help. Please head to her blog and vote for my project to win the May challenge. I would be so so so very thankful for your help.
I have been seeing so many paper dresses on the Circle blog and I think they look so cool so I wanted to try it for myself, and I have to say after a lot of burning of my fingers on the hot glue gun I think it turned out pretty well.

I found this form at Burlington Coat Factory. I think it is a necklace holder.

This is the back of the dress.

Please go to KarelJ's blog and vote for me.

How to make it:
1. Pick a leaf from the Mother's Day Cartridge and what I did was on each page I used filled page with the leaves 1 at 2 inches, 1 @ 1.5" and 2 @ 1".

2. Next I took the thin piece of 8.5x8.5 paper and covered it with adhedsive.

3. Take the 2" leaves and start covering/ layering them on the bottom of the paper, I did about 4 layers. Repeat with the 1.5" leaves and then with the 1" ones up to the top of the page this makes the bottom half of the dress (skirt)

4. Next take the skirt and wrap it around the wire form. I have to add some flowers to the edges of the skirt to get it to fit around the wire. Then I used the glue gun to glue the skirt together at the edges.

5. Then I used the glue gun to add more of the 1" leaves to the top of the form to make the dress top.

6. I added some bling as a necklace with my i-rock.
Don't forget to Kristal's blog and check out all the links.

Summer Fun

Hi Everyone,
It's Becka with Creations With Becka here. This week for the Sweet Sassy Diva DT challenge we were asked to make a project with a kite. I am also getting ready for my circle meet up on June 3rd. We are making scrapbook pages for Crops of Luv. So I thought I would make this summer fun layout for the challenge and have something to donate at the meet-up too.

I used the Imagine and Best Friends cartridge. I printed out the cardstock on two white pages of cardstock. I printed out the kite at fit to page and the two girls are at 3.8".  Summer Fun is from the Elmo's Party cartridge. Please go to my blog and check out my Mondays post HERE. I entered KarelJ's May challenge and would love for you to check out my project and vote for me over at One By One Flamingos are Stealing my Insanity.

Apple Card

Ok so the second project from My Pink Stamper was to use Kraft paper. I don't have any of that paper so I improvised and used what I had. I had this great newspaper print from CTMH and then thought it would be cute to add an apple. This would make a great card for Cooper's 1st grade teacher for teaching him so much this year.
